New York State Governor David A. Paterson has called for a spending freeze of 3.35 percent of the current fiscal year's budget, which goes from April 1, 2008 to March 31, 2009. This freeze is on top of a $38.8 million cut that the State University of New York as a whole received as a result of the 2008-09 state budget.

Hello, I read this week's paper with a very discouraged heart. There is an article linking BSA's name with profanity and indecent music. I'm not at all mad with the article, in fact I think it is very well written. I'm more so concerned with the unfair coverage of this organization.

Search and rescue workers assisting with the investigation into the disappearance of Middlebury first-year Nick Garza '11 believe they spotted Garza's body in Otter Creek over two weeks ago during an aerial search of the area. Despite the claim, officials with the Middlebury Police Department (MPD) cautioned against premature conclusions.

Elliot Hall has always had a special history with children.
For over 70 years the building, known as Elliot City Hospital and then Elliot Community Hospital, welcomed babies into the world.
In 1973 Keene State College acquired the building, naming it Elliot Hall.

They were undefeated in conference play with a record of 6-0, and an overall record of 25-15 in the NCAA, last year was a great year, but this year has hopes and determination of being that much better. Keene State College's women's volleyball team is good.

The College's Office of Admissions announced that, as of May 6, it had received 564 deposits for September and 92 for February enrollment. The numbers ensured that it would fill its target enrollment size of 570 for September and 90 students for February, after only 18.

But the Syracuse men's lacrosse team needed to make something clear from the get-go against Canisius Sunday in the first round of the NCAA tournament, a 20-3 win for the Orange.
"We just wanted to let them know, right from the start, that they weren't really going to be in the game for real long," said junior attack Kenny Nims, responsible for two goals and three assists in the win.
